The deal was supposed to be final before Opening Day which was on April 7th, 2022. But now, the tale has taken a huge twist as the New York Mets may or may not have shown some interest in signing Aaron Judge. MLB analyst Jon Heyman has done a detailed report on this situation.

What lies ahead for New York Yankees outfielder Aaron Judge?

Aaron Judge can be in the open market after this season if no deal happens between him and the Yankees. Initially, there were various reports which stated that New York Mets owner Steve Cohen might be interested in stealing Judge. But Jon Heyman thinks that the New York Mets will not do that to their fellow New York club.

At present, there is a good bond between Yankees General Manager Brian Cashman and Mets General Manager Billy Eppler. So Heyman thinks the duo would do nothing that would sabotage the relationship between the two of them as they were former colleagues. If the Mets are interested, then Steve Cohen will most likely sign Aaron Judge this winter.
On the contrary, a source told Heyman, “He (Steve Cohen) would not do that to the Yankees.”

The main thing that the New York Mets will be considering is finding a suitable pitcher for their lineup as Mets pitcher Jacob deGrom has suffered from an injury and has an MRI scheduled tomorrow. Heyman thinks that the Mets have already managed a fierce outfield. However, having a capable pitcher is vital.
