For over two months, the lockout has been a prominent topic in the MLB. But ever since the news of Juan Soto rejecting the Washington Nationals’ huge contract has come into the light, he has been making headlines for such a bold yet brave decision at a young age. And now the NBA star Donovan Mitchell has publicly invited Juan Soto to play for the New York Mets in the future.
Mitchell plays for Utah Jazz in NBA, but his father served as a director of players relations for the New York Mets and so he is close to the Mets.

While talking to Enrique Rojas of ESPN, Soto confirmed the offer and said, “Yes, they made me an offer a few months ago, before the lockout. But right now, my agents and I think the best option is to go year by year and wait for free agency. My agent, Scott Boras, has control over the situation. Anyway, I still think of Washington as the place where I would like to spend the rest of my career, so we will see.”
