MLB The Show 22 is arguably the most famous game for baseball fans. The next cover star of The Show 22 will be revealed on Monday, January 31. However, before the official announcement, Fox Sports had conducted an online poll. And as per the fans’ votes, Fox has announced Los Angeles Angels star Shohei Ohtani as the next cover athlete of The Show 22.

Given that the MLB is still going through the lockout, The Show 22 will be a delight for baseball fans. Earlier fans were not certain about the release of The Show 22 because of the lockout. But thankfully, everything is on track and The Show 22 is going to release in a day.

Recently, sports broadcaster Fox Sports had conducted an online poll for the next cover star of the much anticipated MLB The Show 22. And given that the lockout is still in motion, baseball fans have not seen a single game since last year’s December. But fans are fans. If not games, they will find entertainment in something else.

In the Fox Sports poll, fans participated in huge numbers and they voted for Japanese superstar Shohei Ohtani to become the next cover athlete for The Show 22. Fox took their Twitter to announce the result of the online poll. However, the sports broadcaster also confirmed that it is not the official result. And it is purely based on fans’ votes.

When and where will the reveal take place?

According to the official website of The Show 22, the reveal event will take place on Monday, January 31, 2022, at 11:35 am EST from Times Square. Fans can watch the live stream broadcast by visiting the official website of The Show 22, i.e., theshow.com.

Top contenders for The Show 22’s cover athlete

Considering the last season’s performance and craze among the fans, only two names are in the mind of baseball fans, Shohei Ohtani and Freddie Freeman. Both Ohtani and Freeman had a wonderful 2021 season with their respective teams. With 46 home runs and 156 strikeouts in 130 innings for the Angels, Ohtani was the American League MVP in the 2021 season. While Freddie Freeman won the World Series winner with the Atlanta Braves and he was also the NL MVP in the 2020 season.
