But, that’s not all, as MLB still has a big surprise to offer for the 2022 season. If reports are true, then, Major League Baseball is planning to bring back the aluminum bats into the regular season in 2022. Notably, as of now, only wooden bats are allowed for the batters in Major League Baseball.
And if aluminum bats become a reality in MLB, then god save the pitchers and fielders in the ballpark. Playing with aluminum bats can be very dangerous in MLB. Because, in the past, it has only harmed the game of baseball.

What are the dangers of aluminum bats in MLB?
Earlier on Friday, MLB journalist Howard Cole reported that MLB Commissioner Rob Manfred has given green light to experiment with aluminum bats in spring training. And if things go in their favor, then batters might be able to play with aluminum bats from the mid-season.

However, there are tons of drawbacks if MLB officially allows aluminum bats as it is very dangerous for the pitchers and fielders. Notably, with the trampoline effect, aluminum bats produce higher speeds of balls compared to wooden bats.
Imagine, if a pro hitter like Vladimir Guerrero Jr. or Shohei Ohtani starts playing with aluminum bats. Where would they send the balls to? The bounce-back rate of the ball after being hit by an aluminum bat is so high that if being hit, It can take someone’s life. That is the main reason why aluminum bats are not in use in MLB.

However, at school and college-level games, aluminum bats are allowed. Because wooden bats are way more costly than aluminum bats. And the durability of aluminum bats is much better than wooden bats.
