The MLB lockout may be nearing its end and so is some players’ patience. With the lockout stretching to nigh on 90 days, the players seem to be getting restless; and Bryce Harper is one of them. The player took to social media to curb his desire to play ball; even going as far as to maybe agreeing to move to Japan for it. The hitter posted an edit with himself, sporting a jersey from the Japanese League to his Instagram in what could be an attempt to switch over.

Bryce Harper, playing for the Philadelphia Phillies, seems to be the latest to jump on the train to disparage the league. With MLB showing readiness to miss up to a month of games, it seems Harper can stay away from the ballpark no more.
Besides, if his social media is to be believed; Harper might even be ready to swap out MLB for the Japanese League if that allows him to get on the diamond and dispatch some pitches over the boundary wall.
Bryce Harper posts about switching teams
Posting on his personal Instagram, Harper tagged the Japanese side, Yomiuri Giants, in a post asking if he could switch over. Wrote Harper, “Aye Yomiuri Giants, you up? Got some time to kill.”

Clearly upset at the lengthening negotiations, Harper seems to have made up his mind about getting back in the ballpark soon. He added, “I know you got BorasCorp.’s number. Let’s talk.” asking the team to get in touch with his agency to finalize his switch.
Bryce Harper – A Philadelphia Phillies
Harper touted as a classic 5 tool player by many signed on with the Philadelphia Phillies in 2019, and he has had a superb time in the city since. Harper has managed to make an impact in the city, even winning the 2021 NL MVP along the way. And while a considerable portion of his 13 years of $330 million contract remains to be serviced; could a switch to the Japanese League be on the cards?

Unlikely, considering almost 10 years on his contract remains yet to be serviced. However, if anything, the post is a definite show of the mood amongst the players in the league. With the negotiations stalling constantly; and the League even admitting that they would be willing to miss up to a month of regular-season games, it seems that player patience is running low.
