Apart from the CBA negotiations between the owners and players, the rumors around free agents have been another interesting thing during the lockout. Some of the top free agents, including Freddie Freeman, Carlos Correa, and Clayton Kershaw, are yet to sign for any team, because of the work stoppage in MLB.

Notably, with lockout still going on in Major League Baseball, it has put a pause on every baseball activity in the league. No team or players can negotiate for any deal until the lockout is over. Talking about former Atlanta Braves star and the current free agent, Freddie Freeman, the speculations around his new contract has been a hot topic in MLB.

And if reports are true, then after the New York Yankees and the Atlanta Braves themselves, Los Angeles Dodgers are also in the race to sign Freeman.

Will Freddie Freeman end up at the LA Dodgers?

Putting rumors aside, it is no secret that Freddie Freeman is one of the most valuable players in MLB. Last year with the Braves, he helped them to win the National League as well as the World Series title. After Ronald Acuna Jr got injured, Freeman took the charge and played an instrumental role in the last season’s success of the Braves.

But now, since his contract with the Braves expired after the 2021 season, he entered into his free agency. Since then many teams have inquired about the star player. But as per MLB journalist Bob Nightengale, not the Yankees, but LA Dodgers are leading the race to sign him.

“I think the Dodgers are the X-Factor… I can’t see another team jumping, I can’t see the Yankees,” Said Bob Nightengale. “It’d be very sad if he is not back in Atlanta. He means so much to the organization. The organization loves him… He does not want to leave there, and he is so beloved at that organization. I mean, they should retire his number one day.”
