As of now, Cabrera has 2996 hits in MLB on his name. With the upcoming few games against the New York Yankees, the Tigers slugger will try his best to cross the 3,000 mark this week.
Miguel Cabrera is just four hits away from 3,000 hits in MLB
Having played for over 20 years in Major League Baseball, Miguel Cabrera is already a legend. Notably, with a single hit against the New York Yankees on Tuesday, Cabrera has 2,996 hits in his name. And the Tigers have two more games to play against the Yankees at their home stadium. If things go his way, Cabrera might register his name in the history book.
Reacting to Cabrera’s record-breaking achievement, the Tigers manager AJ Hinch said it would be fun to watch him do that in front of home fans. Hinch also shared Detroit slugger’s opinion on achieving the milestone. He conveyed that Cabrera also wants to get it over with.
“It’s such fun to watch him,” AJ Hinch said. “Now that we are back home and you know he is gonna play these games at home in front of the fans. Hopefully, he can put together five hits at least and do it in front of friends, family, the fans, who have supported him all these years… We are all very excited and looking forward to celebrating on the field with him. I think he just wants to get it over with…”

Although Cabrera got a hit against the Yankees on Tuesday, he could not avoid a 4-2 defeat to the Yankees. However, there are still two games to be played against the Yankees at the Comerica Park. And it is possible that the Tigers legend might get his 3,000th hit in these two games.
If Cabrera does so, he will be one of the very few players to have over 3,000 hits and 500 home runs in Major League Baseball. What do you think? Will Miguel Cabrera achieve the milestone against the New York Yankees this week?
