Even during the lockout and then the free agency, everyone speculated Correa to either extend his stay at the Astros or, sign for a top team like the New York Yankees and Chicago Cubs. According to The Athletic, Morse said that he has never seen anything like it. Because a free agent who is in his prime would not prefer to go to the Twins. Morse also said that after Correa’s deal, he felt an immediate impact on the organization.

“We are blessed with some really amazing legends,” Morse said. “(But an) in their prime, free-agent signing to come to Minnesota and really be the big name on the board, I’ve never seen anything like it. Never felt anything like it. We felt an immediate impact in our entire organization that morning.”

Morse himself didn’t know about the deal until he woke up in the morning. After Correa’s deal, the Twins sold 60,000 tickets in just four days. Such was the impact of his signing.
