The saga of Carlos Correa appears to have ended quite abruptly in the 2022 off-season. With the superstar shortstop signing on with the Minnesota Twins on a 3-year-deal, the league seemed to have collectively expected another team to announce the signing. However, fans of the franchise could not be happier. With the signing announced, they seem to have promised to be there in droves for 2022. And the ticket sales reflect that.

Carlos Correa signed on with the Twins for a 3-year contract worth $105 million; and while making him the highest-paid infielder in the league, the signing was also an unexpected one.

The superstar shortstop was reportedly in consideration to sign on with supposed contenders like the New York Yankees or even the Chicago Cubs. And while the signing may have left some pundits perplexed, fans of the Twins seem only too happy to have the shortstop.

Carlos Correa – Ticket rain-maker?

It is obvious that fans will flock to the ballpark to see high-value signings. Perhaps even more so if it strengthens your side’s bid to take the title. And even though the overall roster of the Twins is yet to step up and be counted in contention, it is certainly formidable.

The addition of Correa to the mix only strengthens their bid for a pennant. It is perhaps to capitalize on this that fans will be flocking to the Twins home stadium to catch some baseball action.

The Twins’ tickets reportedly roared atop the sales charts after the announcement of superstar signing Carlos Correa came through; the announcement gave them an amazing 100,000 tickets sold in the season already.

This may not mean so much for legacy franchises like the Yankees or the Red Sox, but could bring about a world of difference for the Minnesota Twins.

The Minnesota Twins, although having not contended for the pennant for a few years, now have suddenly become very real contenders. After calling through a 5 player trade with the Yankees, which landed them Gio Urshela and Gary Sanchez in exchange for a few of their roster pieces, the Twins have actually put together a contending squad.
