Earlier on Monday when the Athletics traded him to the Braves, the star first baseman shared his excitement to play for his new team. Olson said if there was one place to go and leave, then it’s the Atlanta Braves. Olson also expressed that after spending 10 years at the A’s, it will be bittersweet for him to leave the place and then play for his hometown team.
“I have been here since 2012, almost 10 years. My whole baseball career, it’s bittersweet leaving,” Olson said. “Obviously, Atlanta is an amazing place. World Series champs, My hometown… If there was one place to go and leave, that’s the place to do it.”

Though the Braves have acquired Olson for the first base, it will not be an easy task to fill the void left by Freeman. During his 12-year stay at the Braves, Freeman has played a pivotal role in their recent success.
