After months of lockout, CBA negotiations, and free agency, baseball is back in America. And when talking about MLB, how can one not think of the New York Yankees? Though their free agency was not up to the mark, the Yankees are still one of the title contenders for the 2022 season.
And with another new signing right before the opening day, they have strengthened their roster for the upcoming season.
Aaron Judge heaped praise on Greg Bird
Aaron Judge is a pure Yankees DNA, there is no question about it. And he feels the same DNA in a Greg Bird. Notably, on Tuesday, the Yankees signed Greg Bird back to their roster on a minor league deal. And Judge is elated to have his former teammate back on the team.
Earlier on Tuesday, after the Greg Bird deal, Judge addressed the media ahead of the opening day of the 2022 season. Judge said that he couldn’t believe it when he got to know about the news. While he also expressed that Bird is Yankee through and through.
“I was surprised,” Judge said. “I saw that this morning and I was like, ‘whoa.’ I think this is where he belongs. He’s a Yankee through and through, especially coming up through this organization, knowing how it runs.”

The Yankees slugger is confident that Bird will have a great season for the Yankees. Notably, given his previous records for the Yankees, Bird has only been a disappointment for the Yankees. But Judge said Bird is in great shape for the season.
“I’ve talked to him a lot during spring training,” Judge added. “He’s put up a great spring training. Looks like he’s in great shape. So I’m looking forward to seeing him at some point.”
