“I Was Completely Rejuvenated”- Cameron Maybin Credits New York Yankees for Allowing Him to Play Well

New York Yankees are arguably the most successful team in the history of Major League Baseball. Considering their rich history and trophy collection, the past 10-15 years have not been the best for the Yankees. But despite that, many baseball players crave to play for the Pinstripes at least once in their career.

Notably, apart from being a great team, the Yankees have been home for many baseball greats. Babe Ruth, Joe DiMaggio, Yogi Berra, and Derek Jeter are a few to name who have donned the Yankees’ numbers on their back.

And recently, MLB legend Cameron Maybin also credited the Yankees for his glorious run in the game of baseball.

Former MLB outfielder has played for over 10 teams in Major League Baseball. But after his retirement, Maybin has credited the New York Yankees for reviving his career. While speaking to Ryan Ruocco of ESPN on his podcast R2C2, Maybin confessed that after retirement he can be completely honest. And now he does not have to sugarcoat his words.

Maybin expressed that his experience with the Yankees rejuvenated him from an energy standpoint. And credited the organization for allowing him to play at the Bronx.

“The beautiful thing that I love about being retired is, I can be completely honest. Now, I don’t have to kind of sugarcoat my interviews. And to be honest, after 2019, after the experience that I have with the Yankees,” Maybin said.

“I mean, I was completely rejuvenated from an energy standpoint, from a passion standpoint. So a lot of credit to the fans. The organization for allowing me to come in and have the opportunity to play well there.”

Notably, earlier this year, the Yankees legend announced his retirement from baseball. During his 15 years in Major League Baseball, Maybin played for a total of 11 teams. The 34-year-old represented teams like Atlanta Braves, Chicago Cubs, New York Mets, New York Yankees, among others.

After making his MLB debut with the Detroit Tigers in the 2007 season and Cameron Maybin played his last game for the Houston Astros in the 2021 season.
