The Opening Day of Major League Baseball of the 2022 season is just a month away. And there is still no agreement between the owners and the players’ association. In the past couple of weeks, the MLB lockout was the biggest debate in the baseball world. But ever since the news of Juan Soto rejecting a massive contract offer from the Washington Nationals has come out, it has shifted the limelight towards the young outfielder.
The news of declining the Nationals’ offer didn’t go well with the former MLB star, Tim Dillard. As he went on to slam Soto’s decision over his huge contract demands.

Tim Dillard slams the Washington Nationals’ star, Juan Soto
The notion of Juan Soto receiving the first $500 million contract in American professional team sports is not far-fetched. He'll be 26. There's already a $43 million-a-year player in his former teammate, Max Scherzer. If he stays healthy and productive, it's very realistic.

Well, it is not a surprise why did Soto turn down such a huge contract offer from the Nationals. Currently, he is just 23 years old, and in the last season, he finished second in the National League MVP voting. A player of his caliber will definitely have an illustrious career in the coming times. Not long, just after three years, he will enter his free agency. And it is possible that he might become the first-ever MLB player to receive a $500 million contract.

How much money did the Washington Nationals offer Juan Soto?
As per ESPN’s Enrique Rojas and Jeff Passan, before the lockout, the Washington Nationals offered a 13-year long-term contract worth a whopping $350 million. But the ace outfielder was brave enough to reject the offer. And instead, he said that he will wait for his free agency before signing for any team.
