The ongoing lockout is now over two months old. And even after all this time, the MLB players stand firm in their demands from the owners. Earlier this week, the players’ association declined the request from the owners to include a Federal Mediator for any further negotiations. They did so as they do not want to bring any third party to the table.
However, recently, the players’ association had a meeting in Arizona regarding their demands to the MLB owners. And the Yankees pitcher, Gerrit Cole, said that it was exciting to see the solidarity among all those present.
Not only Gerrit Cole, but players like Marcus Stroman, Whit Merrifield, and Max Scherzer have also been vocal against the owners’ approach for the new CBA deal. Notably, if the two parties do not find the solution for a new deal at the earliest, then not only spring training but MLB will also lose some of the league games.
