In any sports, records are meant to be broken. It does not matter how big the record is, one day an individual will come and beat that record. It is the nature of individuals to continue to strive to do that. And that is the beauty of sports. But there are still some records that are almost impossible to break.
Recently, Ben Verlander, a baseball and MLB analyst, asked fans to do something on Twitter. He asked people to name an MLB record that will never be broken.
Ben Verlander on Cal Ripken’s record
Name a record that you think will NEVER be broken.
I’ll start: Cal Ripken’s 2,632 consecutive games played
— Ben Verlander (@BenVerlander) January 28, 2022
When Verlander put up the tweet, he also posted his opinion in the same. According to Ben Verlander, Cal Ripken’s record of playing 2,632 consecutive games is something that no one can match.
The Baltimore Orioles legend had played 21 seasons in MLB, and that too for only the Orioles. During his MLB career, Ripken played 2,632 consecutive games. Which is still a record.
Lance McCullers on Nolan Ryan’s career strikeouts record
Replying to Verlander’s tweet, the Houston Astros pitcher said that the career strikeouts record by Nolan Ryan is something that will never be broken.
Personally, I don’t think any pitcher will ever top Nolan Ryans 5714 career strike outs. He was way way ahead of his time “stuff” wise & with so much long term success and health. You look at the Rocket & Randy J. that are still way behind even with their storied careers. https://t.co/iSflbq1E09

During his 27-year long career in major league baseball, Nolan Ryan racked up 5,714 strikeouts. He made his MLB debut with the New York Mets in 1966 and played his last game with Texas Rangers in 1993. It is very unlikely that someone will break his career strikeouts record. With 4,875 strikeouts, Randy Johnson is second on the list, who has also retired from the game.

And if we talk about the current active players, then nobody is even close to Ryan’s record. New York Mets’ Max Scherzer, with 3,020 strikeouts, has just crossed the 3,000 mark.
