This free agency has seen some of the craziest deals in Major League Baseball. First, free agent Freddie Freeman left his former team, the Atlanta Braves, and joined the LA Dodgers. And then Carlos Correa also left his previous team, Houston Astros, and signed a new contract with the Minnesota Twins.

When a player like Correa leaves any side, it will not be easy for the management to fill the void. Because playing for seven seasons at the Astros, Correa was a master at the shortstop position.

And now that Correa has joined the Twins, his former teammates of the Astros praised him and said they will miss him.

Ever since the free agency re-opened, no one expected Correa to join the Twins. And that too when the teams like the Chicago Cubs and New York Yankees were after the star free agent. But on Saturday night, Correa surprised everyone with his move to the Twins.

Notably, Correa signed a three-year contract with the Twins for an insane $105.3 million amount. Even after signing a three-year contract, Correa has the advantage of opt-out in the first and second years of his contract.

Knowing that Correa has never played for any other team in MLB than the Houston Astros, his former teammates, shared their opinions on his new deal and said he will be missed.

The Astros left fielder Michael Brantley heaped praise on his former teammate and said, “I was happy for him and his family, first and foremost… He will be missed. He was a phenomenal asset to this team. In the same respect, we still know what we have to do to go out there and compete. We’re professionals in this locker room.”

While Alex Bregman said that Correa deserves to be the highest-paid infielder of all time. Notably, with an annual salary of $35.1 million, Carlos Correa is now the highest-paid infielder in MLB history.
