A-Rod believes if he is successful, then it is because social media did not peak at his time. Recently, he applauded the current athletes for managing their lifestyles.

Earlier in 2021, when the entire world was suffering from the deadly coronavirus, A-Rod made probably the best move in his post-retirement career. He, along with his billionaire friend Marc Lore, invested in the NBA franchise Minnesota Twins. Recently, his team failed to qualify for the next round of playoffs.

Recently, his team, Minnesota Timberwolves, lost their playoff round to the Memphis Grizzlies. But A-Rod was all praise for his players. Talking to Shams Charania, A-Rod said that it is very hard for current players to focus on their game. Because they have to deal with social media too.

“I spent a lot of time individually with our players. Talking about the importance of saving money, taking care of family, life after basketball… These kids have it so much harder today,” A-Rod said. “I don’t think I could have ever played in this environment because Twitter, the social media, was bad enough when I played in New York. But these kids have a lot to deal with all.”
“I think it’s a really good culture and a great foundation to build off of and that’s the most important piece.”

He also expressed that these new generation players want to do more in their life apart from their sporting careers. Because they also want to be an example to their society.
“They don’t only want to be good basketball players. They want to be good dressers, and good investors and they want to be vocal about social issues. All these things that we really want. We were just ballplayers, so my hat goes off to all our players,” added Alex ‘A-Rod’ Rodriguez.
