Pete Alonso certainly knows how to reply to the opposition. After being hit by a pitch in the opening day game, Alonso silenced the entire squad of the Washington Nationals. Notably, just two days back, the Mets star left the field during the game due to an HBP (hit by pitch).

However, thankfully, Alonso responded in style to pitchers on Saturday and played a crucial role in the Mets’ victory over the Washington Nationals.
Notably, the Mets have already lost their starting pitcher Jacob deGrom to injury. On the other hand, Max Scherzer is also not a hundred percent fit. And had they lost Alonso to injury, then the Mets would have been some real problem in Major League Baseball.
Pete Alonso knows how to payback
Earlier on opening day, when Alonso got hit by a nasty pitch on his head, taking no risk, he had to leave the field. But no one would have imagined that the very next day he’ll come back on the field and hammer the Nationals pitchers.

Alonso smashed the first-ever grand slam in his MLB career. And the Mets star took his revenge on the Nationals on their turf. After the game, Alonso admitted that the ball came into his zone and it hit on the sweet spot of his bat.
“Grannies are sick! I mean, I hit a couple in the minors and it’s been a while since I smashed a granny. But, I was sick and that was fun…,” said Pete Alonso to SNY TV. “I was super stingy in my zone. He threw me a strike, but I didn’t like it. And then he came in my zone where I was looking and I got it connected, put the sweet spot on the ball. So, it was a good night for the boys.”

Right from the start, the New York Mets dominated the game, and in the end, they won it by 5-0. Given the roster and the kind of form, the Mets players are in. The Mets are going to be a serious threat to any opposition in the ongoing season.
