New York Yankees pitcher Luis Severino makes a comeback with 3 strikeouts
Luis Severino brought a smile to every fan’s face as he scored strikeouts while not giving out any runs was notable. In the last week of March, Severino had an injury scare near his elbow and then his shoulder. Yesterday’s game proved that this man is underrated.
The fourth inning of the game was when Severino showed his class. He first struck out Tucker Barnhart with a 97 mph fastball. Then in the fifth inning, he faced Robbie Grossman and sent him back to the dugout with a 90mph changeup, followed by a strikeout of Jonathan Schoop with a slider.

Yankees reporter Meredith Marakovits interviewed Luis Severino after the game. When asked about the game, Severino said, “It’s tough. My mentality was to get my team a chance to win. I know how I can get my best stuff. I can manage myself to get through 5 or 6 good innings. My plan was to not try to overthink, just to throw it by him.”
Even Yankees’ manager Aaron Boone had a few words to say about Severino. Boone said, “He didn’t have his best stuff, necessarily, but I thought he navigated well. He made really big pitches. And I thought he finished great.”
