

Months after the lockout, Major League Baseball will finally start from the next month. And currently, almost every team is busy strengthening their roster before the start of the season. However, apart from doing great business in MLB, the Chicago Cubs owners also have their eyes on the Premier League club Chelsea FC.

Notably, Chelsea owner Roman Abramovich has already announced that he is looking for the right owners to sell his club. And the Ricketts family of the Cubs along with billionaire Ken Griffin are reportedly planning to bid for the EPL club.
And if reports are true, then the Cubs’ owners and Griffin will make an official offer in the coming days to buy the London-based soccer club.

Notably, after Russia-Ukraine crisis, Russian billionaire and current owner of the Chelsea Football Club, Roman Abramovich publicly announced that he no longer wants to continue as the club owner.
And after a few weeks of Abramovich’s announcement, the owner of the Chicago Cubs of MLB and Ken Griffin of Citadel, has teamed up to bid for the EPL club. And as per Reuters, the two will make an official offer on Friday.

Not to forget that earlier this week, the UK government has sanctioned Chelsea’s owner Roman Abramovich. Meaning he is now unable to sell the club to any party. With this sanction by the UK government, Chelsea FC has also been restricted to sell their match tickets. The club cannot even pay for the travel fares of the players.

Notably, MLB club owners have a long history with the EPL clubs. Fenway Sports Group, owner of the MLB side Boston Red Sox, also owns the Premier League team Liverpool FC. And if the Cubs owners pull off the Chelsea deal, they will also become another owner to own a baseball team as well as an EPL team.
