Ever since the owners and players agreed upon the new CBA and ended the lockout, MLB has got its life back on track. Right now, the most important job for any MLB team is to try and sign their most-desired free agents until the regular season starts. Speaking of which, Carlos Correa is probably the most talked-about man in the league right now.

Former shortstop for the Houston Astros, Carlos Correa has been in the news for a while now. Some of the top teams including, the Chicago Cubs and New York Yankees are after Correa. However, the star shortstop is yet to decide on his future and hasn’t signed any deal yet.

Looking at the current rumors, apart from the Chicago Cubs and New York Yankees, his former team Houston Astros are also in the race to keep him at their club. But where does Carlos wish to go? 

Chicago Cubs among favorites to sign Carlos Correa

Chicago Cubs are one of the teams that are desperate to sign Carlos Correa. And if reports are true then, the Cubs and New York Yankees are the two teams leading the race to sign Correa. However, overlooking the Yankees, Carlos is reportedly interested in signing for the Cubs.

But signing Correa will not be so easy for any team, given the huge price tag attached. Maybe that is the main reason most of the teams are not thinking of Correa as an option. However, when it comes down to Correa’s interests, the Cubs and Yankees are still his favorites.

According to MLB Insider, Mike Rodriguez, at this moment, the Cubs are negotiating a deal with the Yankees. Notably, he also confirmed that Correa prefers to join either the Cubs or the Yankees and is in conversation with one of them already.

Taking to Twitter, Rodriguez said, “Carlos Correa, speaking with the Chicago Cubs at this moment. As I said on December 2, the Cubs and Yankees are the star’s favorites. SS Puerto Rican.”

Ever since making his Major League Baseball debut with the Houston Astros in the 2015 season, Correa has not played for any other franchise. However, since his contract with the Astros expired after the 2021 season, Correa is unlikely to continue with the Astros.
