In his autobiography “Never Grow Up”, Chan talked about his experience while shooting for the film Who Am I. While shooting often brings challenges, Jackie faced a terrifying experience. For this movie, he had to film some scenes in the wild. However, he later had to bring in bodyguards while shooting.
Jackie Chan on his terrifying experience of shooting:
While shooting at a location near Johannesburg, Jackie Chan recounted how he had to film some scenes in the wild. Since the location was near a village, Jackie soon began interacting with the villagers. The creators of the film even invited local folks to act as extras in the movie. They gathered animals, like chickens and goats, to film certain scenes. However, things took a turn for the worse when they discovered some animals had gone missing at the end of the day.
Upon inquiring, the locals revealed the animals disappeared because of wild leopards around the shoot location. This was enough to spook the entire crew, including Jackie. He recalled in his book,?“By the time we finished, many of the chickens and goats had gone missing. The locals told us they had been eaten by leopards.”. This prompted Jackie to keep bodyguards on set at all times.
