Jackie Chan made his name in Hollywood and became one of the most popular stuntmen in the late 90s. Chan has performed some of the riskiest stunts in his career that set him apart from the rest.

Although his stunts made him distinctive, Jackie found that some were potentially fatal. Jackie Chan once revealed performing an action that almost killed him and made him face significant surgery.
Chan performed an almost fatal stunt
Jackie Chan claimed that he performed most of his stunts while sober. In 1986, while Chan was filming for Armour of God, he had to accomplish a feat after drinking beer. Chan revealed that the scene required him to pop beer and swing across trees.
Chan completed the first take, but the legendary stuntman wanted more. He then decided to give it another go, but the tree’s branches gave away, making Chan hit the ground. Jackie Chan, in a 2017 interview,?said,?”My whole body was numb.”
Chan’s skull was fractured, and one of the skull’s bones entered his brain. The 68-year-old stuntman was taken to the hospital and underwent major surgery. Chan recalled, “[I] almost died.”

The injuries did not affect Chan’s commitment to his work and perseverance. Jackie Chan slowly made a full recovery from his wound and filmed the sequel to Armour of God. After that, he appeared in many more action movies.
Chan is famous for not using safety harnesses and stunt doubles in his movies. Chan has broken various bones, including his eyebrow bone. Apart from fractures, Chan also incurred concussions and chronic back pains.

Chan has performed some of the most famous stunts, including the shopping center stunt performed in Police Story. Other feats include Project A’s clock tower stunt, skyscraper slide stunt from Who Am I?, and Helicopter Fight Stunt from Supercop 3.
