Jackie Chan opens up on Bruce Lee’s struggles!
Jackie Chan once revealed in an interview how Bruce Lee struggled due to the superhero image he had. He said, ?He was under so much pressure to be a superhero, and that was not good for him. That?s one thing I learned from his life ? do not try and be a superhero.?
Chan shared how people always pushed Lee hard, too hard, in fact. This constant pressure of being a superhero and living up to that image cost Lee a lot, according to Chan. He always had to act according to people’s expectations, and this was very tiring and stressful for him in the longer term. His fans expected the same energy and unrealistic action sequences from him time and time again!
Going further on the unreal expectations from Lee, Chan said, “I remember that people at first were saying he could punch at 100lbs, then straight after that they were saying he could punch at 700lbs. A One-Finger Punch Which Could Break a Wall.” This shows how he was always under the pressure of keeping up with the superhero image he had. Jackie Chan learned from all this that he had to stay away from such an image.

Chan is involved in many philanthropic activities for many decades now. He is a UNICEF Goodwill Ambassador. Chan takes part in many charitable works and causes. He has pledged to donate half his assets to charity upon his death.
