In a TikTok video posted in 2021, Kessler was seen dodging and jumping over stone walls emerging out of the water with his huge power kite. All seemed to go well as he glided along, until he dashed into one of the sea walls. He fell after failing to successfully land on the sea surface.

TikToker’s kitesurfing blunder

As per the social media update, Kessler was performing a number of extraordinary leaps over the sea walls. Moments later, a faulty wind flow and an erroneous entry point landed him right into the protruding rocks of a wall. Apparently, the incident took place in Sicily in October 2020.

After two successful attempts, Kessley was approaching his third wall when he lost his balance mid-air, further disorienting his leap. Moreover, since kitesurfing is majorly influenced by the direction of the wind, it swayed him toward the wall rather than away from it.

Consequently, the video revealed that he dashed against his board and smashed it into pieces. It is evident that he suffered from a few injuries but fortunately, they were not life-altering. Likewise, in a similar incident, a kitesurfer recently broke his back even after being a pro in the field.

Pro Kitesurfer fractured his vertebrae

Michael McDonald aka Mike, a pro athlete and YouTuber recently shared a video of his horrific failure while doing the boogie loop. It is a popular stunt that allows a surfer to spin around mid-air unrestricted and then land safely on the water. Thus, Mike opened up about his recent injury as a result of the stunt, in the video.

“I crashed the Boogie Loop which is a trick I’ve probably performed a thousand five hundred times, and I fractured my T3 vertebra in my back,” he revealed. Furthermore, he added that it was a compression fracture and on top of that, his ribs also suffered a hairline injury. A bruised lung was another repercussion of his feat. Fortunately, he successfully recovered from them and is more cautious of his stunts now.
