Vancouver-based NHL team, Canucks recently garnered attention after the announcement of their new head coach. Now ex- Canucks coach, Bruce Boudreau was replaced with former player Tocchet. As per NHL’s official Facebook post, they declared the decision on Sunday in a recent Facebook update

Seemingly angry fans took to the comments section to debate and give their opinions about the change. Guess how that turned out? 

The Vancouver Canucks appointed Rick Tocchet.

The caption of the Facebook post read, “There’s a new sheriff in town. Rick Tocchet has been named the new head coach of the Vancouver Canucks.” Fans responded to it with a series of reactions, majorly condemning the decision. 

“How the Canucks handled this situation was completely classless and unprofessional. Management should be ashamed of themselves.”

“Absolute joke of a franchise, they really did Bruce dirty.”

“So did they hire Tocchet to ensure they tank? That’s what his career coaching record suggests”

“What an absolute disaster of an organization”

“He will be gone by this time next season”

However, a few of them wished the 58-year-old good luck, although with a hint of sarcasm. Additionally, it has been a difficult month for Canucks fans, since, celebrated player Gino Odjick passed away. 

Gino Odjick passes away, leaving fans in tears.

Taking to the social media platform once again, Vancouver Canucks paid homage to the legendary player, Gino Odjick on his unfortunate demise at 52. He played with the team for over a decade. Moreover, the post featured 3 players donning the jersey he wore, The Skate.
