Star goaltender, Jonathan Quick, was traded to the Columbus Blue Jackets for two other players, Joonas Korpisalo and Vladislav Gavrikov. Even though an official announcement is still pending, the news spread like fire on the internet. Thus, sparking off critiques and disappointment among fans and the NHL world.

Journalist slams Kings’ in support of Jonathan Quick

As per the social media update, the CBS Sports media personnel iterated that the 37-year-old athlete’s dismay over the news was justified since he contributed to their success for more than a decade. Moreover, with his retirement days fast approaching, it was a relatively insensible decision from the organization’s side. “Just let the man finish his career in LA,” he expressed in his tweet.

Furthermore, he elaborated his point of view by stating, “Can you really blame Jonathan Quick for being upset with the trade? I get it’s a business, but the man spent 16 years with the Kings and is near the end of his career.” Apparently, Quick assisted the team’s prior Stanley Cup wins in 2012 and 2014. He was also honored with an MVP title. Hence, the recent transaction appears as a disgrace to his efforts.

Surprisingly, another marked exchange followed within the day. Blackhawks’ right winger, Patrick Kane, who also contributed significantly to the four Stanley Cup wins for his team, was traded with the Columbus Blue Jackets leaving fans with mixed feelings.
