The horseracing community has come together to pay homage to Tyler’s Tribe, a 4-year-old equine. On May 1, Tyler Tribe had to be euthanized after working a half mile. The tragic incident happened at the Hot Springs in Arkansas track. Later, Oaklawn Park confirmed that the equine passed away. Soon, the community erupted in anger as Tyler’s Tribe had shown several unignorable signs in the past of having grave physical issues.

The 4-year-old horse earned a distinct reverence because of its tearaway pace on the track. But at the same time, the niggling issue of bleeding through his nose kept everyone on their toes. However, the horse racing community has yet to know the cause of death. But the Oaklawn Park community has vowed to go hard on the individuals who are connected with this tragedy.

Trainer Tim Martin has faced the initial wrath as his entries have been scratched on the track in the coming weekend. Furthermore, the horseracing community couldn’t believe that the stakeholders repeatedly ignored the Iowa-bred gelding’s health conditions in the last several years. So they came out heavily on them.

The horseracing community becomes unified after witnessing the horrific loss

The first sign of a problem appeared in the 2022 Breeders’ Cup Juvenile Turf Sprint. Despite a hurried start in that race in Kennland, Tyler’s Tribe finished off the board. Throughout the route, he bled as per the officials. In the next stakes in Oaklawn Park, he bled again. “It wasn’t nothing like the Breeders’ Cup,” Tim Martin had tried to belittle the situation then. In a reminder of that, a fan blamed the industry for being the sole perpetrator of the problem:

On March 10, he bled despite having a long off-season last year. Tyler’s Tribe worked for the last time in Oaklawn on May 1. The X-handle, Adrianne DeVaux, sharpened the attack toward the authority, who deliberately looked away despite the repeated bleeding issue. As per the handle, the added trauma worked as a catalyst to enlarging the fatality.

Meanwhile, the primary reason for the bleeding went to the exercise-induced pulmonary hemorrhage. One user expressed their agony for the lack of treatments and the added pressure on Tyler’s Tribe for the races. If this was not enough, one more revelation might further infuriate the fans.

Allegedly, the trainer, Tim Martin, or the co-owners, Martin and Tom Lepic, did not give heed to the problem. To a user, that was a ‘criminal’ offense. Eventually, in his several races, Tyler’s Tribe’s trainer found the charts with the line, “returned bleeding.”

Andy Asaro, the horse racing raconteur, termed the entire fiasco ‘sickening’.

But such a thing has become normal on the race tracks recently. On May 2, Collins was euthanized at Oaklawn after working five furlongs. So the repetition evoked worry among the fans. The X-handle, Cala B demanded the ‘good people’ to remain active in the situation to avoid such repetitions.
