The 2-year-old colt, Getafix, has always been the talk of the town. The colt, whose sire is none other than Calyx, caught John O’Shea’s eye the instant it was born. At Randwick-Kensington, the horse was prepared for his maiden race under the guidance of jockey Nash Rawiller. Dale, Evenflow, Getafix, and Iceman were stationed at the first four gates. Railway Man, Zealously, and Cinsault filled up the remaining gates. The only one to be removed from the race for reasons that are yet unclear was Waterville; the rest of the grid was prepared to go.

According to SKY Racing’s X post, Zealously led the 1250m race going into the last turn. Railway Man, who had been in second place going to the final stretch, began to slow down and was passed by Getafix. But it wasn’t over yet; the 2-year-old colt raced over the final stretch and passed Zealously for first place with 100 meters to go. At the finish line, Getafix triumphed over the other colt, who was vying for first place. With Getafix’s photo-finish victory, trainer John O’Sean was the most elated one after the race.
