The arrival of the new year has brought along a row of glistening opportunities for horse racing enthusiasts. A new season and a run for records and titles have formed a well-thought schedule for equines and their connections. Former jockey turned manager, Noel Fehily has fallen no behind in aligning with the rest as he produces the plans for one of his cherished horses in the stables.

Fehily has been a successful jockey through 2 decades of career run; including success in the King George VI Chase. However, despite the ascent, the horse racing great decided to retire to open ‘Racing Syndicate’ with 32 horses under management. Working with the best of the trainers and horses, the icon revealed his plans for one.

Love Envoi has been one of the celebrated horses with 8 wins to her 12 starts through 3 years of horse racing. The 7-year-old recently recovered from an injury and her career’s least impressive run; securing 2nd finish in December. Until now, that has been the last race on Love Envoi’s record. But Noel Fehily’s recent chat with ITV Racing has revealed that the champion has more to add to her name. “The plan is to go to either Lingfield or Warwick in February,” he stated following his views on her latest race.

However, what carried further was rather more exciting. After asserting affirmative to the host’s question on Cheltenham Festival being the next target, Fehily revealed that the equine was ready to be back on the horse racing tracks. “She was a bit sour for a few days (after the Sundown race in December) but she is fine now. I spoke to Harry Fry (trainer) today and she walked well this morning. So, I think hopefully, whatever was niggling her, it was something small and she seems fine since.”  With health and stature back in place, Love Envoi has a booked season ahead.

An aim to repeat history

Mares’ Novices’ Hurdle at the 2022 Cheltenham Festival and a race at the 2023 Warwick sat prettily as Love Envoi’s won on her record. After settling well on December’s Sundown following the previous year’s win, the connections will look for a similar pattern for the schedule ahead. “The races pick themselves for her and you have got the Sandown race she won last season in early January and then the Listed race at Warwick in February,” Fry added following Cheltenham Festival entry announcement.

The Lingfield or Warwick races will be used as stepping stones for Love Envoi to find herself a place at the festival. After loosing to Honeysuckle for a 2nd spot last year, Fehily and team hopes for a horse racing marvel from March 12th to the 15th.
