Owned by Miss D Kenealy And Duckhaven Stud, this horse opened 2024 with sheer brilliance as he showcased incredible power at Wincanton on January 6, 2024.

At the Virgin Bet Every Saturday Money Back Handicap Hurdle, ridden by the iconic  M. G. Nolan, 7-year-old Daany had his most significant win to date. A post on X by  ITV Racing shared a snippet of the race, writing, “Daany wins the Virgin Bet Every Saturday Money Back Handicap Hurdle!” Keeping 8 runners in his trail, the gelding surged ahead to victory and added  £7,750  to his prize pouch with a blazing time of 4 minutes and 0.17 seconds.

He won the 1 mile, 7 furlongs, 50 yards race at odds of 8/1. Fourofakind (IRE) took second place at odds of 5/2, while One Last Glance came in third at odds of 7/2 . This horse racing triumph marked a remarkable comeback for Daany after a 132-day break, showcasing the prowess instilled by trainer Joe Tickle.  While we gush at this sheer talent, let’s take a look at his storied career.

Daany is a 7-year-old bay gelding from Ireland, sired by Pivotal out of the dam Ejadah. He was born on January 27, 2017 and is trained by the iconic J. Tickle, based at Tiverton in Devon, England. Daany has participated in a total of 40 races. Throughout its racing career, the bay gelding has secured victory in three races, and the race at the Virgin Bet Every Saturday Money Back Handicap Hurdle boosted his career immensely.

Daany has also achieved two second-place finishes and claimed five third-place positions in his career. Notable races of the Irish gelding include finishes at Exeter, Newton Abbot, Windsor, and Wolverhampton, among others.
