Frankie Dettori might not have had the best of times on the sets of I’m a Celebrity. He humorously faltered, gave fans much needed comic relief and also enticed all his enthusiasts the world over. However, his exit from the Australian show has marked one set of several joyous moments. Dettori was earlier named as one of the contenders for the BBC Sport Personality of the Year awards and now celebrates yet another fun-filled moment.

I’m a Celebrity…Get Me Out of Here was an exciting week for the horse racing legend. His dreams of exploring the jungle soon fell short, becoming the first person to exit the venerable reality show. But as the Christmas festivities kick off in tandem with his big day, the British Flat Racing Champion now celebrates a special day, thanking fans for their wishes.

Frankie Dettori, born on 15th December 1970, celebrates his 53rd birthday today. He posted a special message on X for his fans, thanking everyone for their heartfelt wishes. “Thank you for the birthday wishes!”, Dettori wrote. The horse racing legend also posted a video thanking everyone and his family, who had gifted some special things to Dettori.

Family bought me some, a few presents and a nice family picture. A new iPad because I lost mine on the flight, some plugs, some AirPods, this I haven’t opened yet”, he revealed. Given his popularity, Dettori received a multitude of wishes and couldn’t reply to everyone. I can’t reach to all of you but take care and also Merry Christmas.”, the legendary jockey added. The birthday celebrations were even more exuberant as Dettori received the SPOTY nomination earlier.

British veteran named in SPOTY nominees

BBC announced the final six contenders for the 2023 Sports Personality Of the Year, and one of them was Frankie Dettori. This prestigious honor is awarded to sports personalities from various echelons of social strata for their positive impact during the year, both professionally and in the other aspects of life. The winner will be announced live on air from the MediaCityUK on December 19.

The other nominees include the British cricketer Stuart Broad, footballer Mary Earps, Alfie Hewett, Katarina Johnson-Thompson, and golfer Rory Mcllroy. The winner will be decided via an iron clad online voting on the British broadcaster’s show BBC One this Tuesday. Horse racing enthusiasts would surely be voting for Dettori, and honor his legendary career with this prestigious award.
