Confidently entering into this six-horse field is “Nothing Like You, “, sired by Malibu Moon. This tall and elegant filly, who had won earlier, Desi Arnaz S., guided by jockey Juan Hernandez, moved ahead, situated on the rail. She started the charging out to the lead, and bravely faced pressure, posting a quick first quarter of 23.24. She managed to sustain her lead for another mile with the clock reading 47.40 seconds, which displayed her superb speed and endurance. She had a great finish with a commanding burst across the line and she got an unforgettable gap of 5 ¼ lengths between her and her opponent, Great Forty-Eight.

However, the race was not devoid of its fair share of drama. Great Forty-Eight, initially securing second place, faced disqualification due to interference with the favoured Chatalas in the stretch. This turn of events elevated Flynn’s Chance to second position, highlighting the unpredictability inherent in the sport.

Pedigree and rising legacy

Trainer Bob Baffert, effusive in his praise for Nothing Like You, acknowledged her strengthening prowess with each race. Commenting on her growth and strategic utilization of her strengths, he emphasized her preference for longer distances, an attribute that came to fruition in this impressive victory. “I thought my other filly would be on the lead,” Juan said. “(Nothing Like You) was pretty fresh today because I’d backed off on her a bit because I’d just run her at Del Mar (on Nov. 10). Juan said, ” She popped out of there and he said nobody wanted the lead so he just took it. Once I saw her on the backside with that long stride, you could tell she was in control of the race.”
