Beyer Speed Figures, devised by Andrew Beyer, are numerical indicators of a horse’s performance in equine racing. These figures, found in the Daily Racing Form, simplify race analysis for bettors by swiftly identifying faster contenders based on recorded race times adjusted for track conditions. While numerous factors influence race outcomes, Beyer’s figures provide a quick and reliable gauge of a horse’s speed, aiding in comparisons across different tracks.

This metric system is used weekly by TDN to determine the ‘fastest horse of the week.‘ However, more recently, they revealed their horse of the week in the recent update for December 7th.
