Fans still want more from their beloved trainers, horses, and jockeys in the 2024 races. Similarly, many people who are interested in horse racing look up to Tom Marquand, the British jockey. Even though Marquand’s 2024 season has already begun, he will be engaging at the well-known Dubai Carnival on Friday.

Dubai Racing Club announced Tom Marquand’s attendance at their famous horse racing carnival via their official X account. On the other hand, they did mention that Marquand would be participating in the carnival and riding the horse Mystic Pearl in the G2 Cape Verdi.

Big moment in a few days for Tom Marquand

At every highlighted horse race, Tom Marquand has a large audience eagerly awaiting his performance. This British jockey has been around for a while, and he’s shown his mettle at most of the major venues for flat horse racing. This prowess of his has made him attract both admirers and rivals. According to Dubai Racing Club on X, the jockey has once again accepted the challenge to compete in the Dubai Carnival, where he is expected to ride in five races. Among those five races, he will also include the G2 Cape Verdi, where he will be galloping with the horse Mystic Pearl.

On several occasions on the track, the connection between the British jockey and the horse has been seen. Although many talented riders have ridden Mystic Pearl, only a couple of them have achieved victory, including Tom Marquand. During Mystic Pearl’s debut in the Maiden Fillies’ Stakes in 2022, with Marquand as its first rider, the horse finished in 6th place. But in 2023, as Marquand was back on the saddle, the horse sprinted away from the pack in the last furlong of the Coral Distaff. The horse racing community can’t wait to see how these two perform since they’ll be easily identifiable among the group.

The Journey of Mystic Pearl

Mystic Pearl will soon be a 4-year-old horse and has already shaken the horse racing world twice. The horse had a lot of trouble in its Maiden Stakes debut, which raised concerns about its career start. However, when Mystic Pearl arrived at the Novice Stakes on September 3, 2022, it stunned everyone. The horse maintained a strong lead and, despite struggling during the last furlong, was able to secure the win from Runaholic.

The horse finished on the podium after winning the Novice Stakes, but it never tasted a win again until Tom Marquand was back on the saddle. At the Coral Distaff, the horse didn’t disappoint Marquand again, as it stormed through the final furlong after being pushed wide into the turns. Mystic Pearl maintained that pace until the finish line and got its second career victory. After this race, the horse hasn’t ridden in a single race as she and Marquand are looking for a power performance at the Dubai Carnival.
