Recently, Arcangelo’s unexpected retirement?has already shocked the equestrian and horse racing community and now another heartbreaking news has left the entire community in shock just a day before the Breeders’ Cup event.

Horse racing community bids farewell to an equestrian star

Geaux Rocket Ride was a bay colt bred in Kentucky in 2020. He was sired by Candy Ride and out of the Uncle Mo mare Beyond Grace. However Recently, Pin Oak Stud shared a post on X and captioned it as, ‘Our hearts are broken, but Geaux Rocket Ride is at peace.’We will miss you forever, Rocket?

 

In the post, the pic was also included with captions that read,? It is with very heavy hearts that we report that, at the recommendation of the medical team, Geaux Rocket Ride has finally reached peace. His mind and his spirit never quit, but his body never recovered from surgery. He had a very rare response post-op and he wasn’t able to stand up again. He fought hard and our team of vets tried everything they could.”They further expressed that they are grateful for a team of veterinarians and medical staff who provided care for Geaux Rocket Ride. Also, they acknowledged the support and love they received from others in the equestrian community.

On November 1 when he was training for his upcoming event in Santa Anita, he suffered a serious leg injury. The diagnosis showed that a bone in his leg had fractured. ?Rocket is having an unexpected response to the surgery and isn’t recovering as we hoped,? the farm statement read.?Sadly, this injury forced him to retire from racing and it also led to his untimely passing on 2nd November.

Geaux Rocket Ride’s equestrian success

Ride had already secured victories at two different racetracks and earned more than $980,000 for his dedicated owners. Geaux Rocket Ride’s win in the Haskell Stakes, a top-level race, made him a star in the equestrian world and proved how talented he was. This victory also put him in the spotlight as a top choice for the famous Breeders’ Cup Classic race.
