Racing SA, which is the national industry body representing the world of Thoroughbred racing in Australia, took to announce the news about Chelsey Reynolds’ accident on Tuesday morning. It took to its Twitter handle @RacingSA to confirm the news. The tweet reads, “Racing SA can confirm an incident at trackwork this morning on the Fleurieu Peninsula involving apprentice jockey Chelsey Reynolds.”

Reynolds was on the Fleurieu Peninsula, which is situated 70km south of Adelaide, tending to an uphill sand gallop, when the fall occurred. She was working on an uphill sand gallop, and immediately after the fall, the paramedics rushed in. The Australian Jockeys’ Association took to comment on the critical situation, adding, “Our thoughts and prayers are with SA apprentice Chelsey Reynolds after her accident this morning.”
The incident follows apprentice jockey Kelsey Hannan’s recent hospitalization after a fall at Strathalbyn. Horse racing is a sport with its inherent risks. There’s no refuting that, but is there a glimmer of hope in this case?

In her first race held on July 30 last year, she took to win it, saluting The Great Baby at Balaklava. Her latest victory was on December 10, winning on Pool Pony at Murray Bridge.
