The NSW government is working on the Metro West project, and as part of its expansion, the relocation of Rosehill Racecourse has been proposed.
If the plan is approved, Sydney’s west could get two new metro stations while the Rosehill Gardens Racecourse would be turned into 25,000 homes and a school. Given the bizarreness of the move, a growing displeasure has emerged in horse racing enthusiasts, who clamoured on social media bereaving the loss of it all.
Horse racing community shocked by Rosehill news
While horse racing seems to touch new heights, the administrators seem to be ignorant of the fact. The Australian Turf Club has even signed an addendum, and the horse racing community can’t believe it. “My God. I don’t believe it! Isn’t that where Winx raced? That’s such a beautiful racecourse. It’s a pity”, wrote one dejected user on X.
