The horse racing community is experiencing an extremely exciting ending to the year with the ongoing RoseWater Stakes. It is one of the most prestigious races in the horse racing world. This year it took place in Delta Downs on the 29th of December. Multiple races and wins occurred in this prestigious event, but there was something that stole the attention of the entire community.

The renowned jockey Vicente Del Cid’s epic moment took place at this event. He stunned the world by clinching his 500th career win, clinching a stupendous win and adding an honorable feather to his cap. Let’s have a 360 look at this beautiful moment of the jockey. 

The epic moment of Vincent Del Cid in front of the horse racing world

Vicente Del Cid is a 22-year-old native of Guatemala. He won his first career race on the 21st of October, 2021 at Delta Downs in Vinton, La. Now he has reached his 500th win at such a young age at the same place. This is one of the most wonderful accomplishments once can attain. He dominated at the RoseWater Stakes and proved his worth gracefully. The jaws of the entire horse community have dropped to witness such a wonderful win. This win is now making waves all over the internet.

Delta Downs Racing has taken to their X account to appreciate this commendable win of the jockey. They shared a picture of Del-Cid holding a board in his hand that was given to him for completing 500 wins. The caption to this carried, “Congratulations to jockey Vicente Del Cid, who notched his 500th career win aboard the Tom Amoss trainee Lacie Be Good in the six sixth race tonight”.

This was a heartfelt note for the jockey. Along with him, his 3-year-old horse made the horse racing community star-struck too. The entire journey up till now for the jockey has been a roller-coaster. From wins to accidents, they have won it all.

The unfortunate injury of the jockey 

Vicente Del-Cid in 2022 faced multiple facial fractures which he sustained at Delta Downs in Vinton. After sustaining this unfortunate incident in the horse racing world, he was expected to stay off the field for approximately four to six weeks. He was immediately taken to the doctors for suggestions about the surgery. In this incident, he experienced a broken bone near one of his eyes. 

Not just this, he also suffered from a broken nose. During this moment he was saddled upon his mount, Luck of the Stars who fell and was thrown which caused the accident. After this accident, his agent Louis Coco said, “I was visiting with him yesterday and he’s good, he’s in good spirits”.

From this experience to now, the jockey has reached great heights and has made his prominent space in the horse racing world.
