The Bahrain International trophy has been the kingdom’s biggest horse racing event for the year. With its continued presence, major upgradation of status, and mouth-gaping purses, it is walking the way to becoming one of the recognizable races in the industry. Following up, on the path to doing so, the Bahrain Turf Club hosted its 5th edition of the event on the 17th of November, and the excitement was a worthy expression.
The Rashid Equestrian & Horseracing Club (REHC) stood to welcome the best of the racing world for the Grade 2 title on the evening of Friday. And as the equines raced to the wire for the $1 Million purse, one reigned a winner against the best of the names in the industry.

Under the thrilling environment at REHC, 14 horses across 5 countries paced near the starting gate to race for the crown. With multiple grade stakes winners in the midst; including defending champion, Dubai Future and early favorite Nation’s Pride, Richard Fahey-trained Spirit Dancer, took away the title for the evening. The Bahrain Turf Club shared the news with great enthusiasm on X following the shunning win. “SPIRIT DANCER wins the $1m Gr.2 Bahrain International Trophy under @OisinOrr trained by Richard Fahey and owned by Done, Ferguson, Mason,” the post read.

It was with 200 meters left on the map that Spirit Dancer galloped for a win against the 13 competitiors. Leaving behind Israr and Astro King, the 6-year-old gelding earned a 7th win to his career. Under the famed trainer, Richard Fahey, Spirit Dancer has now marked a total of 22 starts in his 4 year career; with three consecutive wins in the persisting year.

Spirit Dancer earns praise
Standing on the brinks of the winning race before all was trainer Fahey. A win on the tracks and the equestrian brimmed with happiness. “What a horse! SPIRIT DANCER drives home to win the G2 Bahrain International Trophy under a flawless ride by Oisin Orr. Many congratulations to owners…Thank you to everyone to who has made this trip possible!” Fahey wrote as he shared a video of the victory.?

Before attaining a spectacular win at Bahrain, Spirit Dancer owned not one but three tracks this season. A York and Windsor Handicap followed by Group Three Strensall Stakes at York, defined the stellar path of the gelding. ?That is the best ever, without doubt. Against all the pedigrees and form of all the other horses ? that?s fantastic, I couldn?t believe it,” owner Ferguson remarked according to Racing TV. Spirit Dancer stood to prove the ever-turning events and uncertainties of the horse racing industry.
