The 2022 Japanese Horse of the Year enters the event after a record-breaking play in the Oct. 29 Tenno Sho (Autumn) (G1), clocking a world-record time of 1: 55.2 in the 2,000-meter turf race. After his success, the colt was stabled at the Tenei branch of Northern farm and finally reunited with Trainer Tetsuya Kimura?s barn at Miho on November 10th. His recent six-furlong breeze on the woodchip course in 1:21.8, while he covered it with a catatonic rider. He took the time of 11.4 seconds, proving to be a strong contender.

Liberty Island’s Rise and Equinox’s challenge
Liberty Island, an outstanding three-year-old filly, is set to dwarf Equinox. Liberty Island is the girl of Duramente, She won all three legs of the Japanese Triple Tiara that was settled on October 15 in Kyoto. Equinox is the leading contender for the Japan Cup and will face a strong opposition eager to assert his supremacy across the course.
