“He is a talented horse. He is probably stiff not to be undefeated”, Avdulla explained. Although the 2017/18 Sydney Champion Jockey has ridden Helios only once competitively, where they won, he believes the 4-year-old is in ‘good form’ and would outpace his rivals. “I expect him to go there and be very competitive again“, Brenton expressed high hopes as Helios Express continues rising above the rest.

Impressive horse racing record of Helios Express
Helios Express was undefeated in his last 3 races, winning back-to-back 1200m races. The 4-year-old Australian gelding is owned by Andy Yung Ming Tai, and sired by Toronado. Helios made his debut last year in June at the Shan Tin track, finishing 2nd. Soon, he rose through the ranks and stands as one of the most renowned horses in Hong Kong’s equestrian arena.

After the impressive debut, Helios Express won two consecutive 1200m races at Sha Tin led by jockey Z Purton. However, the duo parted ways, and Breton got the opportunity. Riding for the first time this season, the duo won another 1200m race at the Sha Tin turf in November. With three victories already in the bag, Brenton is hopeful of a fourth straight 1200m victory for Helios Express this Sunday.
