This decision was prompted by a substantial purse cut at Golden Gate Fields, leading to a 25% reduction due to a $3 million purse overpayment. Despite this change, Moger plans to maintain a 15-horse stable at Golden Gate Fields while pursuing a new chapter at Santa Anita.

Among Moger’s notable horses, transitioning is up and comer Stilleto Boy, a familiar name that triumphed in the Grade 1 Santa Anita Handicap last March. Despite being unraced since September, Stilleto Boy is slated to return in the Grade 2 San Antonio Stakes on Dec. 26 at Santa Anita, marking the opening day of the track’s winter-spring meeting, where he seeks redemption after finishing second in the same race in 2022.
