Equinox is a well-known name in the world of horse racing. In 2023, the horse was a sight to behold, winning every race in which he competed. However, the stallion didn’t aim for a glorified 2024 season, as it bid adieu to the horse racing scene just after his G1 Japan Cup triumph. The horse’s retirement was a shock to fans but, the stallion’s supporters found ways to connect with it.

Recently, at the Japan Cup Celebration Party, the owner of Canter Collection was present. The apparel brand set up a booth at the expo with products on Equinox. The products on Equinox were sold out in no time, for which the brand expressed its gratitude on social media.

Equinox, who retired after the G1 Japan Cup, was farewelled with a spectacular ceremony attended by hundreds of supporters. Timeform also awarded the stallion with a huge 136 rating. These on- and off-track accomplishments boosted the horse’s popularity among the massive fanbase. At the recent Japan Cup Celebration Party, the owner of the horse racing apparel brand Canter Collection was present. According to the X post of the apparel brand, the company sold a lot of Equinox items at the reputed expo.

The brand revealed in the X post, saying, “We set up a Canter Collection booth and displayed the products we have sold so far.” They further added their gratitude to the fans, saying, “Thank you very much for visiting our booth.” Hoodies and hats were only a few of the many things on offer. But there was one thing all of those products had in common: they all had the name “Equinox” printed on them. Additionally, the company promised that there will be more products coming soon. Even if the horse has retired, the surrounding hype has developed, all thanks to its stellar career.

A horse racing career with zero flaws

Equinox was the son of the legendary Japanese racehorse, Kitasan Black. The stallion immediately took charge of the track, following in its father’s footsteps. The horse easily won his maiden at Niigata and then proceeded to his graded-stakes journey. At the Tokyo Sports Nisai Stakes (Gr. 2), Equinox completely shattered its opposition. However, the next two Grade 1 stakes that the horse attended weren’t on his winning list, as the stallion placed 2nd.

Yet, the horse utterly destroyed its rivals in the Tenho Sho Autumn (Gr. 1) five months later upon its arrival in Tokyo. Following that, Equinox never lost again and gracefully retired after the Japan Cup (Gr. 1). The horse is now enjoying a quiet retirement at the Shadai Stallion Station, where he stands alongside his father, Kitasan Black.
