‘The Great One’ revealed, “My first NHL All-Star game was Gordie Howe’s last, 1980 in Detroit.” Gretzky had played against Gordie Howe in this game, which made it more memorable for him.
Later, he narrated how he played against some of the best hockey players like Gilbert Perreault and Mike Murphy and Tiger Williams were his linemates. At that time, Gretzky was just 19 years old and this was a great experience for him.
