While the All-Star game is a yearly tradition, NHL did something special prior to the All-Star game in 2000. To promote the All-Star game, the NHL shot a commercial with popular ice hockey players. A behind-the-scenes video of the 2000 commercial captured the iconic moments of seven players who got together to film this commercial. These players included Wayne Gretzky, Gordie Howe, Mario Lemieux, Paul Kariya, Eric Lindros, Jaromir Jagr, and Pavel Bure.
This commercial was shot near a small pond in Ontario in 2000. Engaging in playful banter, the hockey players are seen delivering lines for the shoot. Wayne Gretzky, Gordie Howe, and Mario Lemieux also gave interesting views about ice hockey during this video.

In the video, Howe is the first one to initiate the conversation. “Hey, guys! We were pretty good in our days,” Howe said. “No one could forget you, Gordie,” Lemieux later responded to this statement. He expanded that Howe had set the standard for the game. Afterward, Gretzky asked Lemieux and Howe if they visited the pond. To this, Howe replied, “Absolutely.” On this, Gretzky made a playful gesture of hitting Howe with the hockey stick.
On the second day, all hockey players had to again deliver specific lines. Eric Lindros told how intense the acting was and everybody was being creative. Gretzky also delivered a line confidently, “No, thanks, boys! it’s your turn now,’ which made other hockey players laugh.
Later, a scene is shot where the players were divided into two groups. While one group consisted of Howe, Gretzky, and Lemieux, the other group consisted of Lindros, Kariya, Jagr, and Bure. There was a large distance between both groups, giving it the impression of a faceoff. Then, the group of four players tapped the ice with their sticks as if challenging the three players. Post this, some additional shots of Lindros skating on the ice were taken from an angle. Toward the end, Gretzky stated, “You can never do enough for the game.” In his last All-Star game, a glimpse of his dedication to the sport was vivid that entailed a surprising result.
