Bjornsson is known for being one of the greatest strength athletes, who made his big screen debut with HBO’s Game Of Thrones. In the 8 seasons long series, the strongman plays a recurring negative character called ‘The Mountain.’

In a recent video that surfaced on Instagram, Icelandic strongman Hafthor Julius Bjornsson is seen left hanging by former power lifter and fitness coach Russell Walker.

Hafthor is seen holding his fist up while Russell, clueless about the situation, walks the out of the frame after the two posed for a picture together.

 

Hafthor Bjornsson was left hanging

“When you leave the World’s Strongest Man @thorbjornsson hanging,” reads the caption of Russell Walker’s Instagram post. Followed by a laughing emoji. The competitive bodybuilder recently met Hafthor and the two can be seen posing for a picture, shortly after which Hafthor is left hanging for a fist bump.

 

Walker took to his Instagram to address the awkward incident where he writes with a hint of humor, “Extremely hard to tell but he’s a little bigger than me so I had to assert my dominance with the fist bump situation.

In conclusion, he also adds, “On a serious note I felt so bad watching this back on his Twitch Livestream, especially since I didn’t have any wrist wraps to bench before deadlifts so he actually gifted me a pair of his to keep.”

Who is ‘The Mountain’?

Strongman Hafthor Bjornsson is a 33-year-old athlete from Reykjavik, Iceland. He started his journey into sports with soccer and gymnastics before discovering his passion for basketball. He has a height of 6ft 9in and is often nicknamed ‘Thor’ or ‘The Mountain.’ or sometimes Ljonio (The Lion).

After securing victories at several basketball competitions, including the Nordic U-16 and U-18 championships, Hafthor ventured into bodybuilding. His newfound interest in building his body was inspired by the likes of Ronnie Coleman and Dorian Yates. His heaviest body weight was 463lb in 2012.
