Dunne and her LSU teammates went into Saturday’s gymnastics competition coming off a season-opening victory over Ohio State and setting the bar high for the rest of the season with Dunne’s season floor debut score of 9.875. However, the Utah meet saw LSU put on an impressive show despite injured gymnasts, defeating No. 2 Utah and No. 12 UCLA, only losing to No. 1 Oklahoma by 0.900. Particularly, the LSU bars team’s strong performance in the last rotation—a score of 49.650—was crucial to their second-place result. This was not only the team’s best road score, but it was also the third-highest bar score in LSU’s history of the SEC.
