“I got the only thing I asked for for Christmas… FAMILY TIME ❤😭 LOVE YALL 💋😘.” Simone Biles’ 2016 post during 2016 Christmas says it all how much her loved ones mean to her. The beach getaway where Simone had her parents and siblings beside her was as exciting as it could have been. They swam with sharks, the family went fishing and caught 35 fishes! That Bachelorette bliss is gone for Simone! But last year, even her first Christmas as a married woman was no less blissful.

The two wore matching dresses, drank festive candy cane cocktails, and decorated a blue and white Christmas tree. They even clicked in front of the tree while Simone was sitting on Jonathan’s lap, sharing a kiss. Jump cut to this year- their second Christmas, and the festive vibes were cut short- the two were together, but without any family members and confined in a hotel. What happened?

Well, blame the NFL for that. The Bears were set to face the Seahawks on December 26. And as per the rules, the football safety, who signed a two-year, $4,750,000 contract this season, had to report to the hotel a day before the game. So the couple had to keep their Christmas fiesta low-key, over 900 miles away from the family. But for Simone, the day lightened up during Jonathan’s game on the next day.

As the Chicago Bears locked horns with the Seattle Seahawks in the final home game, the G.O.A.T. was in the stands cheering her husband, Jonathan Owens, on. However, amidst Simone Biles’ girl gang in the stands, her sister, Adria Biles, showed up at the Thursday Night Football. The 11x Olympic medalist shared a cheeky TikTok from their time in the stands together. 

Captioned, “WE AIN’T FROM MEMPHIS HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA,” the sisters and their friends are seen jamming to WHATCHU KNO ABOUT ME by GloRilla & Sexyy Red. Meanwhile, Simone spilled out some more details about how she and Jonathan spent their Christmas this year.

Simone was asked by Olympics.com, “Jonathan has two games around Christmas, so how are you guys celebrating this year?” The 7x Olympic champion replied, “Honestly, just the two of us. Nothing crazy. We’re going on vacations next year, so we kind of didn’t even do a Christmas this year. Honestly, just relaxing. And then we have to come back downtown to report to the hotel so we’ll be with the team.” 

In true NFL WAG fashion, the Olympian was spotted in a custom co-ord set. What makes them so special, you ask? The custom attire featured numerous images of Jonathan Owens donning his Chicago Bears uniform from top to bottom. And the point is that, this time, simone got it correct. Remember Bears’ August 17 game against the Cincinnati Bengals? Simone’s support for Owens went horribly wrong when she appeared in the stadium donning a jacket that featured his husband in a Packers uniform. But Simone had assured, “Yes, I have plenty [of Bears gear] now. So, don’t you worry, guys!” So, here she goes.

Simone has been a constant at most of the Bears’ games this year. In fact, Owens even paid tribute to her in the game against the Minnesota Vikings. So, it’s safe to say many were hoping the Chicago Bears would emerge victorious. However, they miserably lost 6-3 to the Seattle Seahawks, bringing their record this season to 4-12. Many fans weren’t too pleased by the outcome. Yet, the blow was probably softened by the fact that Adria Biles was right by her side. But if they didn’t spend Christmas together, what did the Olympian and her beau do on December 25? 

A low-key but loved up Christmas for Simone Biles and Jonathan Owens

The athletic couple had an incredibly busy year. However, now that the 7x Olympic medalist has wrapped up her monumental Gold Over America Tour, the lovebirds have made up for lost time. The 27-year-old has adapted to the duo’s new normal for the holidays. Remember when the Bears locked horns with the Lions on Thanksgiving last month? The gymnast ensured she could spend the holiday with her husband by flying down to Detroit.

Something similar took place this time around as well. Simone Biles looked forward to celebrating Christmas with Owens, even hinting at how they would make up for the quiet time with a few vacations next year. So, what did the loved-up couple do? They spent the holidays in a cozy hotel room. On December 25, the Olympian shared a few stories of their time together. One of them was an image of her feet on top of her husband’s leg in bed, captioned, “Christmas looks a little different when you’ve got to report to the hotel.” 

They weren’t the only ones though. The rest of the team was couped up in the same hotel as well. Despite Owens’ strict schedule, Biles managed to make it out for a little festive fun with Torrie Brown, the partner of Bears tight end Marcedes Lewis. “Merry christmas @torriesbrown,” Simone posted via her Instagram Story with the pair holding up a couple of orange cocktails. Brown reposted the image to her own Instagram Story, calling Simone her “Christmas boo.”

Simone also shared an image of the gingerbread house they made together, clearly showcasing their new holiday tradition. The duo might not have celebrated Christmas with their families this year. However, given how they have been busy with the Olympics and NFL this season, the couple value all the downtime they get together. What do you think of their take on Christmas?
