Simone Biles, by many, is among the greatest athletes of all time. Her achievements transcend that of sports itself because the gymnast has proven time and again that her dominance in the sport of gymnastics is quite unmatched. This is one reason why wherever she goes, she garners respect from the fans. That is whether it is for a gymnastics event or an NFL game.
The Chicago Bears were scheduled to play on December 27th against the Seahawks of Seattle, an important match within the schedule of NFL Christmas games and also the Bears’ last game in the home city. Therefore, in recognition of the importance of the fixture, Simone Biles was in the stands to support her husband Jonathan Owens, who is a defensive safety for the Bears.
However, the Bears got absolutely humiliated in that game by the Seattle Seahawks, as they won the game with a 6-3 scoreline powered by Jason Myers’ two field goals. This brought the Chicago Bears record this season to 4-12, highlighting the problems they have been facing. Fans have called for a rebuild multiple times throughout the season because of this. However, what they can’t seem to tolerate now is how their team put on this performance in the presence of Simone Biles.

The gymnast, who has constantly been her country’s beacon of hope in the Olympics, has a stature of respect among the NFL fans too. Thus, they didn’t like to see their team getting embarrassed on their home ground when she was in the stands. One fan said, “The way both the White Sox and Bears have utterly humiliated the city of Chicago in front of Simone Biles in one year is so embarrassing omg.”
Earlier this year, the gymnast had attended a Chicago White Sox game along with her husband after he had signed with the Bears. They probably wanted to get a taste of the city where Owens was set to ply his trade. However, the White Sox too had an embarrassing performance that day, losing to the Cincinnati Reds by 5-0.
Thus, it seems that Chicago teams don’t seem to perform well in the presence of Simone Biles. However, this time the Bears fans were utterly furious about their side’s performance, which was given while an Olympic gold medalist was in the stands.
Bears Fans can’t bear losing in front of Simone Biles
Most Chicago Bears fans were just angry about the team’s performance. The fact that Simone Biles also showed up to support them and they still gave out this performance was even more embarrassing for them. Indeed, the gymnast’s perseverance was so remarkable that even impartial onlookers were stunned. Simone has an image of being the ultimate winner.
The fact that she’s rooting for a team that is not playing well is surprising to some. “Damn.. I haven’t seen an unbelievable winner root for such a losing program since my friend’s 11th grade boyfriend,” said one fan. Another fan talked about how Simone could probably play better than all the players out there on the field. This was a talking point in the Chicago Bears’ last game too, as numerous fans wanted her to pad up and play for the team, believing that she could do a better job than many of them.

“She’s better than the whole team,” they said. The game was overall quite dull for an NFL Christmas game. Neither the Bears nor the Seahawks could really put out any inspiring performances for the huge amount of viewers watching from their homes. Of course, most of the criticism was directed towards the Chicago Bears, as they were the ones who were defeated in the competition.

But some fans reprimanded the Seahawks too for not making the game interesting enough. Of course, the fact that Simone Biles was in the stands also played a huge role in their criticism. “The Bears and Seahawks put up that glorious display of football in front of America’s queen, Simone Biles. That alone warrants both teams being tried for treason,” they said.
Thus, the respect fans had for Simone was pretty evident. In fact, the Bears fan really liked to see her root for the team. They were trying to catch more glimpses of her on television. “Simone Biles was the only good thing about that game; they should’ve just kept showing her,” said one fan. Thus, it seems the football fans in Chicago mainly enjoyed watching the gymnast on their television during the Christmas week. Hopefully, their team will step up and improve soon. This could help them give a better performance the next time Simone Biles shows up.
